Pat Newman is a highly sought-after real estate professional who got his start over 20+ years ago by investing in residential properties.
Since then, Pat has been involved in hundreds of transactions from buying and selling to flipping and rehabbing both commercial and residential properties.
Pat has seen and done it all. With a multi-million-dollar portfolio, Pat has helped numerous clients start and expand their real estate investments using his skilled guidance and savvy negotiating. Pat’s areas of expertise include strategic planning, investing, and financial structuring.
He specializes in applying his talents and market knowledge to broker commercial, industrial, land, retail, and multifamily properties that consistently exceed the investment goals of his clients.
Pat recently purchased an office building that allows new and established entrepreneurs the opportunity to bring their visions to life.
PROHIBITION ULTRA LOUNGE
As a history major and former high school history teacher, Pat kept his love for history alive with the creation of Prohibition ultra lounge. Prohibition is an ode to the Roaring 20s, an era where alcohol was outlawed but undercover bars kept the liquor flowing.
Once Pat retired from teaching, he created a business plan to bridge his love for real estate and community with the founding of Prohibition ultra lounge in 2012. The lounge was originally established in a 100-year-old Downtown Memphis building with a hidden entrance, much like the secret taprooms created a century ago.
In 2015, Pat made the historic real estate decision to buy an abandoned Applebee’s restaurant at 4855 American Way and relocate the ultra lounge there. Over the next several months, Pat spent hundreds of thousands of dollars rehabilitating what was once an eyesore into a successful, upscale nightclub and popular celebration spot.
Today, Pat’s thriving business provides for its staff and their families, all while offering a top-notch experience to customers. In less than a decade, Pat and his team have grown Prohibition from a passion project to a staple entertainment destination of the Memphis area.
A LASTING LEGACY
Pat’s guiding principle in life is “to whom much is given, much is required.” Driven by this belief, he is always finding new ways to give back to his community.
After earning his B.A. in History at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Pat went on to receive his Master of Education at Freed-Hardeman University and later became an educator.
During his time in Memphis City Schools, Pat touched the lives of hundreds of students, ultimately receiving the Memphis City Schools Hero Teacher Award for his service.
Even after leaving the classroom, Pat remained dedicated to student success as a co-founder of Independence, LLC, an after-school tutoring program for underprivileged and disadvantaged students in public schools. His service to students continued as the head Baseball Coach at Lemoyne-Owen College, where he applied his longtime passion for sports as a former student athlete himself.
He is now an active volunteer with numerous community service organizations and dedicates his time to helping people at all stages of life make the “impossible” truly possible.
